The Closet Revolution

February 1, 2013 marked the beginning of a yearlong project called the Closet Revolution.

The premise is similar to Sheena Matheiken’s Uniform Project, but with a targeted approach to raise women’s self confidence by diverting attention from the mundane, “must-buy” fashion currently over exploited by big fashion tycoons, and increasing awareness for creative, unique personal style.

Every month for a year I will choose one dress -from my existing wardrobe- and wear it for the entire month. Each day I will accessorize with garments and accessories of my choice with the intent to highlight local, sustainable, and vintage/re-purposed pieces. Throughout the year I will be asking for clothing/shoe/accessory and monetary donations for the PoCo Youth Society.
