Challenge Day 2013

Challenge Day is Coming Back to Port Coquitlam

We are putting on 3 separate workshops called Challenge Day. March 12, 13 & 14th pick a day. Challenge Days is a 6 1/2-hour program, created to build connection and empathy, and to fulfill the vision that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved, and celebrated. Challenge Day is more than a one-day program. It goes beyond traditional anti-bullying efforts, building empathy and igniting a movement of compassion and positive change. If I were asked to list which events have shaped me into the leader and human being that I am today, Challenge Day would be one of the first out of my mouth. Coming out of grade 8, I was making the move from middle school to high school and I didn't have a lot of appreciation for who I was. I didn't have the easiest time socially and I wanted so desperately to fit in. Challenge Day was paramount in motivating me to love myself for who I am, and to bridge the gaps with people around me that were just looking for somebody to listen. To me, that's what Challenge Day really is; an opportunity to listen and be heard. There's nothing quite like that feeling and I am forever indebted to the Challenge Day team for showing me that we all are just looking to be loved and accepted and that we need to be that source of love and acceptance for each other. Thanks Challenge Day!
